Everton Duo Keane And Gordon Help Out At School

First-team stars Michael Keane and Anthony Gordon discovered first-hand the impact Premier League Primary Stars is making as they took time out of their schedules to visit pupils of Middlefield Primary School in Speke.

Everton Football Club’s official charity, Everton in the Community, delivers the Premier League Primary Stars programme in various schools across Merseyside for children aged four to 11-years-old.

Funded by the Premier League, the initiative sees dedicated staff from EitC provide specialist multisport coaching, while working closely with teachers to enhance PE and PSHE delivery, raising the aspirations and confidence of primary school children.

England international Keane and Academy graduate Gordon gained an insight into the tailored work Everton in the Community is providing alongside staff at Middlefield Primary School as they met participants and got involved with teamwork activities and challenges in the sports hall.

“Having Michael and Anthony with us today enables us to reiterate the positive messages that we promote everyday in schools," said EitC's Primary Stars Programme Manager Olivia Cardwell.

“Both of them have been brilliant this afternoon in utilising their role model status to engage with these children who receive an array of different tailored support through EitC, the school and the Primary Stars programme.”

On the event, Keane added: “It’s been really fun to meet the children and get involved in one of their PE sessions.

"You can see how much they enjoy the Primary Stars programme and how much it means to them having Everton in the Community at their school.”

Everton in the Community offers various school provision through its Primary Stars programme.
