Midfielder Gomes Back At USM Finch Farm

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes has returned to USM Finch Farm to continue his rehabilitation from an ankle injury.

The Portugal international, 26, had been recovering from surgery in his homeland but has now reported back to the Blues’ Halewood base to begin individual training.

Gomes has been absent for Everton since suffering a fracture dislocation to his right ankle in a match against Tottenham Hotspur in November.

Last week, Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the midfielder was making a positive recovery.

“Andre Gomes comes back next week and will start to train individually here,” he said ahead of Everton's 1-0 win over Brighton. “It is good news because he is doing well. His recovery is going faster.

“I hope he can be with us [the squad] as soon as possible because he is a fantastic player.”
