Chief Executive: 'Carlo Shares Club's Vision'

Chief Executive, Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale, says Carlo Ancelotti “shares Everton’s ambition” – and is looking forward to the Italian leading a progressive and successful club into its new Bramley-Moore Dock home.

Ancelotti’s official unveiling on Monday coincided with Everton submitting a planning application for its new 52,000-capacity “game-changing” home on Liverpool’s waterfront – and added up to what Barrett-Baxendale called a “fantastic day” for the Club.

New boss Ancelotti, who agreed a contract to keep him at Goodison Park until at least summer 2024, has amassed a wealth of honours in a richly successful playing and managerial career.

He has won three Champions Leagues as a manager to add to the two European Cups he claimed as a midfielder with AC Milan. Additionally, the 60-year-old has managed a who's who of the world's finest footballers and led the quartet of AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to domestic championships.

CEO ON WHY NEW EVERTON STADIUM IS 'HUGE STATEMENT OF INTENT'

Denise Barrett-Baxendale discusses Bramley-Moore Dock and Goodison legacy project.

Talking to the media at Goodison, Ancelotti underlined his wish to launch a long-term project, revealing his hopes to "be here when the new stadium opens" and speaking in terms to suggest he views Everton's Bramley-Moore Dock plans as tangible evidence of a club boasting substantial ambition.

Barrett-Baxendale labelled Everton’s new home and associated community-led Goodison Park legacy project “a huge milestone in the Club’s history but also a profound statement of intent for our future… a game-changer for North Liverpool".

And she insisted Ancelotti’s appointment aligned perfectly with Everton’s overarching vision for an exciting future.

“It is a fantastic day for Everton,” Barrett-Baxendale told evertontv.

“We have been sharing our ambition and strategy for the Club moving forward in the past couple of years.

“Carlo shares that ambition and we are delighted he is joining us and helping us deliver on that.

“It is coincidental these two things [manager unveiling and submission of planning application] happened on the same day.

“But when we are looking at the future of the Club, the sustainability and financial growth strategy and ambition for the fans, it is fantastic those two things have correlated.

“Carlo’s commitment and dedication to helping us get to that new stadium is fantastic.”
