The Daily Mirror and Daily Telegraph both claim Everton have agreed a deal with Carlo Ancelotti for the Italian to become the Club’s next manager.

The Mirror suggests former AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Ancelotti will arrive on Merseyside in the “next 24 hours” and “be in the stands at Goodison Park for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Arsenal.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Express speculates Everton majority shareholder has “made a transfer promise… to ensure” Ancelotti is the man to succeed Marco Silva.

Wednesday night’s agonising Carabao Cup exit against Leicester City is covered across the national and local newspapers.

The Blues were cruelly beaten on penalties at Goodison Park after coming from 2-0 down at the break to earn a draw in normal time.

In the Liverpool Echo, caretaker boss Duncan Ferguson praises Moise Kean for his “good reaction” to the disappointment of being substituted against Manchester United on Sunday.

The striker came on at half-time against Leicester to help the Blues mount their second-half fight back.

Finally, the Echo assesses how Ferguson has got “Goodison rocking again” since taking the temporary reins earlier this month.
