LIVERPOOL V EVERTON
PREMIER LEAGUE
ANFIELD
WEDNESDAY 4 DECEMBER 2019
KICK-OFF: 8.15PM
TEAM NEWS
Theo Walcott has shaken off the illness that forced him to miss Everton's game against Leicester City and will be available for Wednesday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Seamus Coleman (rib) and Fabian Delph (hamstring) remain major doubts for the clash, however, with neither having returned to full training at USM Finch Farm.
Like Walcott, Coleman sat out last Sunday's trip to the King Power Stadium, while Delph hasn't featured since the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in early November.
Everton are definitely without long-term absentees Jean-Philippe Gbamin (quadriceps) and Andre Gomes (ankle).
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is suspended following his sending off against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The hosts will also be missing defensive duo Joel Matip and Nathaniel Clyne (both knee).
FACTS AND MILESTONES
Lucas Digne and Richarlison are both in line to bring up a half-century of Premier League appearances for Everton in Wednesday night’s game.
Gylfi Sigurdsson will be aiming to add to the four goals he has scored at Anfield against Liverpool.
Legendary Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall holds the record for Merseyside derby appearances, having turned out 41 times in the fixture.
Everton’s previous two matches on 4 December were against Manchester United. In 2016, Leighton Baines’ last-minute penalty earned the Blues a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, while in 2013 Bryan Oviedo scored a brilliant winner as the Toffees triumphed 1-0 at Old Trafford.
ONE TO WATCH: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Versatile midfielder Oxlade-Chamberlain is comfortable playing in all positions across Liverpool’s midfield.
The former Arsenal and Southampton player offers speed, power and a goalscoring threat.
The 26-year-old joined Liverpool from the Gunners in August 2017. He has won 35 caps for England and scored seven goals for his country.
