What The Papers Say – 19 November

France defender Lucas Digne has told Le Parisien in his homeland of his ambition to keep improving for Everton.

Player of the season in his debut Goodison Park campaign after signing from Barcelona last year, Digne said: "At the club, the goals are simple, we must do better than last season. As an individual, it's the same principle.

"I look at my statistics, the percentage of duels won, the number of successful crosses...I was elected player of the season at Everton, it makes me happy but these figures are more concrete."

Digne is one a number of Everton players on duty for their respective countries. Moise Kean is with Italy Under-21s and could feature against Armenia today after being suspended for his side's win over Iceland on Saturday.

And the Italians' Under-21 boss Paolo Nicolato has told Football Italia: "He was perfect over the past few days. It is not easy to manage all this interest, this pressure. But within the group he is doing well."

Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale tells the Daily Mail about England Under-21 roommate Tom Davies's "pride" over captaining Aidy Boothroyd's Young Lions team.

Gareth Farrelly reflects on his Everton career in the Liverpool Echo. The Irish former midfielder admits he was "ill-prepared" for the challenge of playing for Everton when he signed from Aston Villa in 1997.

Farrelly also recalls the "incredibly special" Goodison Park atmosphere on the day his goal against Coventry City ensured Everton survived in the Premier League on the final day of 1997/98.

Ex-Everton left-back Michael Ball writes in the same paper of his hope that the Blues add to their squad when the January transfer market opens.

"It sort of recharges everyone," says Ball. "There's a new face there and someone to pry on in training and think, 'Is he doing something I can pick up on and add it do my game?' I always like the freshness of it all."
