Gordon Stunner For England Under-19s As Cannon's Ireland Record 13-0 Win

Anthony Gordon scored a stunning long-range goal as England thumped group hosts North Macedonia to make it two wins from two in European Under-19 qualifying.

With the young Lions already leading through Tommy Doyle's 41st-minute strike, Gordon side-stepped two opponents on the edge of the box before unleashing an unstoppable, curling shot to double his nation's lead early in the second half.

A quickfire brace from midfielder Jimmy Garner followed, before Bukayo Saka - on for Gordon as a 77th-minute substitute - completed the 5-0 victory late on.

Paul Simpson's England defeated Luxembourg in their opening game on Wednesday and will complete their qualifying fixtures when they take on Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Everton's Thomas Cannon scored and managed a hat-trick of assists as Republic of Ireland ran in 13 goals without reply against Gibraltar. The Irish were beaten 2-1 by Switzerland in their opener and next tackle Austria on Tuesday.

Finally, Ryan Astley played the full 90 minutes as Wales followed up their 3-0 triumph over Poland with a 2-2 draw against Russia. They complete their qualifying campaign against Kosovo, also on Tuesday.
