What The Papers Say - 15 November

Everton are believed to have written to the Premier League to voice their opinion on VAR, according to reports in Friday's Liverpool Echo.

The paper says Blues boss Marco Silva met referee's chief Mike Riley, along with other northern managers from the top flight, last week to discuss the use of video assistant referees.

However, the Echo understands Everton have followed that up by formally registering their concerns over how VAR is working with league officials.

Everton's Stadium Development Director Colin Chong writes an exclusive column in the same paper, saying "the interest in and enthusiasm" the Club's proposals for Bramley-Moore Dock and a legacy project at Goodison Park has been "remarkable".

The Blues confirmed on Wednesday that 96 per cent of more than 43,000 responses to the Club's second stage public consultation supported the proposed plans.

The Echo also suggests Everton inserted a clause in Joao Virginia’s loan contract at Reading that will allow them to recall the goalkeeper in January.

The youngster kept a clean sheet as Portugal Under-21s were held to a goalless draw by Slovenia on Thursday night but has made only three appearances for the Championship Royals since joining them in the summer.

Finally, the Daily Mail points to speculation in Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport that Roma are considering an approach for Everton striker Moise Kean.
