Thursday’s local and national newspapers report on the huge support Everton has received for its plans for a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and legacy project at Goodison Park.

Record-breaking results for the Club’s second-stage consultation into the proposals revealed 96 per cent of more than 43,000 responses support the Club’s plans for a new stadium and community-led legacy project

Furthermore, 98 per cent of respondents support proposed Bramley-Moore Dock waterfront stadium design.

The Daily Mail carries quotes from Everton CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale, who said: “This is a really important milestone and having the level of support we have from the Liverpool City Region public means we can submit for planning before the end of this year with confidence.”

The Liverpool Echo includes an exclusive interview with stadium architect Dan Meis, who has described the positive reaction to the Bramley-Moore Dock designs as “so incredible”.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, meanwhile, features in the Daily Mirror. The Icelandic playmaker says he is confident Everton can use their 2-1 victory at Southampton on Saturday as a springboard for the season.

“There are only three points between ourselves and fifth place,” he said.

“The league is such that if you put together three results in a row you will jump up four or five places.”

Back to the Echo, and Everton legend Peter Reid has hailed the “terrific” form of Toffees midfielder Tom Davies.

Davies headed the opening goal of the Blues’ win at St Mary’s last weekend.

“He's shown a desire, he's looking to hit forward passes, he's good with or without the ball,” Reid added.

"He's, in my opinion, been Everton's best player recently."
