What The Papers Say – 13 November

Wednesday's Daily Mail features an interview with Everton midfielder Tom Davies.

The 21-year-old is on international duty with England Under-21s following a stellar return to Everton's team over the past month.

"I'm playing for the team I love... and loving it every time I go out there," said Davies, who scored in the Blues' 2-1 victory at Southampton on Saturday and is expected to captain the Young Lions in Friday's European Championship qualifying clash with Albania.

"The start of the season was tough, not getting in the team, but I've come to realise that it's about keeping a level."

Davies is featured in the Daily Mirror, too. The Goodison Park Academy graduate talks in the paper of comparisons drawn between him and Steven Gerrard.

“I wouldn’t say I’m exactly the same as him," said Davies. "But in my head I know I can be a top quality player. My main focus is on improving my game."

Fabian Delph's withdrawal from England's senior squad is covered in the majority of national publications.

Midfielder Delph missed Everton's meeting with Southampton and has returned to his club to continue his rehabilitation.

Gylfi Sigurdsson tells the Liverpool Echo of his admiration for teammate Richarlison, whose winning strike against Southampton at the weekend was his fifth goal this term.

"He comes from a different lifestyle, he is very tough, he had a very tough upbringing - probably tougher than most people could handle," said Sigurdsson.

"I've got nothing but respect for him and the way he has come through... to where he's at today."
