Thursday 14 November is World Diabetes Day and Everton in the Community has joined forces with Diabetes North West Coast Strategic Clinical Network and Liverpool Diabetes Partnerships to raise awareness of the condition and provide support for those living with diabetes.
Nurses will be in attendance at The People’s Hub from 9am-4.30pm on Thursday 14 November to offer Diabetes UK ‘Know Your Risk’ questionnaires alongside advice and guidance from Liverpool Diabetes Programme staff wiho be in attendance offering help and support to those who are either newly diagnosed or are currently struggling to manage with this condition.
And Everton in the Community’s resident GP will be on site to offer support and advice around diabetes or any other health matters. Individuals are also able to join a free 12-week programme with a Health Trainer to access ongoing lifestyle support and guidance. The GP and Health Trainer are based at the People’s Hub every Wednesday.
Furthermore on Thursday 14 November, diabetes screening will be taking place at the Matchday Hub on Spellow Lane on Saturday 23 November in advance of the Blues fixture against Norwich City. Screenings will take place from 12pm and no pre-booking is required.
