The world of football is uniting to send its best wishes to Andre Gomes after the Everton midfielder sustained a serous injury playing against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Midfielder Gomes was hurt in the 78th minute at Goodison Park and subsequently diagnosed with a fracture dislocation to his right ankle.

Everton manager Marco Silva promised fellow Portuguese Gomes would have “all the support he needs” from the Club.

Gomes’s former clubs Benfica, Valencia and Barcelona all tweeted messages of support for the 26-year-old.

So, too, ex-Everton stars Tim Cahill and Idrissa Gana Gueye, along with a host of the players’ current teammates.
