Everton First Team Get Suited Not Booted For Charity Calendar

Everton players including England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Brazil international Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Gomes have joined manager Marco Silva, Director of Football Marcel Brands and Blues Giant Duncan Ferguson in being photographed like never before in support of the Club’s official charity, Everton in the Community.

Blues boss Silva and members of the first-team squad including captain Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne, Tom Davies and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, among many others, have all donned their finest black-tie attire to be part of the charity’s 2020 calendar, ‘Suited Not Booted’.

Supported by Stagecoach, ‘Suited Not Booted’ will raise vital funds for The People’s Place, Everton in the Community’s one-million-pound fundraising campaign to build and develop a purpose-built mental health facility close to Goodison Park to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

Everton manager Silva said: “Mental health is an ever-growing issue in our society, and it is important that we play our part and do what we can to help make The People’s Place a reality as quickly as possible. I was happy to give my support to a wonderful cause and help to encourage the conversation around mental health.”

Blues captain Coleman - who also stars in the calendar - said: “Myself and the players know all about the fantastic work of Everton in the Community and the lives they have helped to change across Liverpool and so we were only too happy to help with the charity calendar. I really hope everyone gets behind it and buys a few copies for themselves and friends this Christmas whilst helping us tackle the stigma around mental health.”

Everton in the Community, CEO Richard Kenyon, added: ““This calendar is a great addition to our fundraising campaign and I’m very grateful to the players and management team for getting involved and showing such enthusiasm for this cause.

“We know that poor mental health is an increasing issue within our community and the need for the People’s Place already exists. The calendar and our other fundraising initiatives over the next few months will play an important role in making our vision for this very important facility a reality.”

Rob Jones, Managing Director at Stagecoach Merseyside, Cheshire and South Lancashire, added: “This is a project that we are thrilled to support. Mental health and wellbeing initiatives are increasingly key in the 21st century and as an employer, Stagecoach recognises its importance and has invested heavily in boosting wellbeing in the workplace. The People’s Place will do a fantastic job of reaching the most vulnerable people on Merseyside and we know this project will help fund vital support for those that need it most.”
