WATCH: Walcott Hails United Blues

Theo Walcott says Everton's compelling performance to beat West Ham United was the product of a united team determined to prove they belonged higher up the Premier League table.

Englishman Walcott was one of five players brought into the side by manager Marco Silva and delivered a purposeful and tireless display to help his side win 2-0.

The victory was Everton's first in five Premier League games and neatly sets up Silva's side for next Saturday's visit to Brighton & Hove Albion.

"We were all united and that performance was what we needed," said Walcott.

"The pressure we were under shows how big this club is.

"Where we were in the table was not us at all.

"We were focussed and ready for this match.

"I have been working hard in training and trying to show what I can do.

"I felt young again and that’s how I want to play."
