Everton Women striker Elise Hughes was in the Wales side which earned a crucial 1-0 European Championship qualifying win in Belarus.

The Welsh, whose victory keeps them within two points of Norway at the summit of Group C in the chase for Euro 2021 spots, left it late to secure victory in Barysaw.

Teenager Hughes had put the ball in the net but seen her effort scrubbed out for offside when – with eight minutes remaining – Rachel Rowe of Reading crashed home following a corner from Rhiannon Roberts.

Everton goalkeeper Tinja-Riikka Korpela, meanwhile, was largely untroubled as her Finland side thumped visitors Albania 8-1 in a Group E encounter.
