Theo Walcott has been taken to hospital for a precautionary assessment on the head injury he sustained during the first half of Everton's game against Manchester City on Saturday.

The forward was stretchered off on seven minutes at Goodison Park after being struck by a ball at close range and was immediately monitored by Club medical staff and doctors.

Walcott will now undergo further examination due to the nature of the injury.
