Midfielder Andre Gomes is "getting better every day" but will miss Everton's Premier League game against Sheffield United, boss Marco Silva has confirmed.
The former Barcelona man has failed to overcome the rib injury that forced him out of last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth.
Jean-Philippe Gbamin, sidelined since mid-August with damaged quadriceps, is the Blues' only other absentee.
"Andre Gomes is out and JP Gbamin as well," said Silva at his pre-match press conference on Friday. "[With Gomes] it's the type of situation where we have to see day by day.
"He's not doing full training but he's getting better every day.
"We'll see every day how he feels. If he's feeling better, we'll start to give the next step [in his rehabilitation] to put him in the right condition as soon as possible."
Saturday's fixture could offer up a 100th Everton appearance for Dominic Calvert-Lewin - against the Club he left to join the Blues in August 2016.
The striker bagged his first goal of the campaign at the Vitality Stadium last weekend, having started all but one of Everton's Premier League games so far this term.
The fixture will also see Phil Jagielka return to Goodison Park for the first time since he rejoined the Blades this summer after 12 stellar seasons on Merseyside.
Only Tim Howard (354), Leon Osman (352) and Leighton Baines (340) can boast of making more Premier League outings for the Toffees than Jagielka's tally of 322.
"Playing against your former club, it is always a good feeling," said Silva. "I think Dominic will have this feeling and, on the opposite side, Phil Jagielka will have it also.
"It will be good for us to receive and welcome Jags at Goodison, and for Dominic is will be a good sensation. If he starts, if he comes from the bench... for sure it will be a good feeling for him."
On Jagielka, who made a further 63 appearances in cup and European competitions for Everton and skippered the Club over five campaigns, Silva added: "He will have the reception he deserves, no doubt about that.
"You know how our fans are, the passion they have for our Club, and players who give 100 per cent of their commitment for our shirt, they normally have the reception they deserve.
"Phil Jagielka will have, for sure, a big reception tomorrow."
