Thursday’s Liverpool Echo claims Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin has avoided undergoing surgery on his damaged quadriceps.

The summer signing sustained the problem ahead of the Blues’ game at Aston Villa last month, with the initial prognosis putting the Ivory Coast international out for at least eight weeks.

Having consulted top specialists, the Echo reports the decision was taken Gbamin would not require an operation but says a specific timescale on his rehabilitation is still unknown.

Meanwhile, Everton boss Marco Silva explains in the same paper how letting Ademola Lookman leave for Red Bull Leipzig in July ultimately became “a business” decision.

Cenk Tosun also features in the Turkish media, with Fotomac hinting Besiktas are eyeing a January loan move for the Everton striker.
