Tuesday’s Liverpool Echo features Fabian Delph, who has explained how Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands was a key influence in his decision to move to Everton.

The midfielder, who joined the Blues from Manchester City this summer, detailed how Brands delivered an inspiring presentation that “sold me the dream”.

"I was blown away," Delph said in an interview given to Everton's official matchday programme.

“Marcel explained my role at the club and how I could bring my experience to help the younger players. The opportunity to come here was too much to turn down."

Tom Davies skippered England Under-21s to a 2-0 victory over Kosovo on Monday night and the Daily Mail carries quotes from manager Aidy Boothroyd, who described the Everton Academy graduate’s performance as “outstanding”.

Back to the Echo, and former Toffees defender Michael Ball has urged Everton to pick up where they left off in their 3-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers when the Blues take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Writing in his regular column for the paper, Ball said: “I was very encouraged by the way we attacked in our last home game - so we've got to bring that mentality this time around.”

The local read also links Zenit St Petersburg striker Artem Dzyuba with a potential move to Everton.

A Russia international, he has scored 21 goals in 38 appearances for his country.
