The Liverpool Echo have been told Everton’s reported £25million capture of Ivory Coast midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is “a steal”.

The 23-year-old made his Blues debut at Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park on Saturday when he came off the bench to replace the injured Andre Gomes late in the first half.

And Bundesliga expert Daniel Pinder, who closely followed Gbamin’s time at previous club Mainz, describes the midfielder as someone who is “extremely athletic” and “possessing great energy”, adding that comparisons to former Ivory Coast and Manchester City star Yaya Toure “aren't far off.”

Thursday’s Echo also claims Everton boss Marco Silva has received an injury boost ahead of this weekend’s home meeting with Watford after Fabian Delph trained at USM Finch Farm. The summer signing sat out the opening day draw at Palace due to a thigh injury.

Gerard Deulofeu, who is expected to be part of the Watford side heading to Merseyside, is quoted in the Echo discussing his time at Everton and relationship with the Club’s supporters.

The Spaniard, now 25, says he was immediately made to feel comfortable at Goodison Park, adding “I have a good relationship and a good connection with Everton fans. They love me and I love them. Every time I go to Goodison, the people are really happy and I'm proud about this."

Finally, quotes from Alex Iwobi’s exclusive first interview with evertontv appear in the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror after the 23-year-old Nigeria international stated his intention to “make a name for himself” at Goodison Park.
