Tuesday’s Liverpool Echo carries quotes from Jean-Philippe Gbamin, with the new Everton signing explaining his desire to repay Marco Silva for bringing him to the Club.

The Ivory Coast midfielder joined the Toffees from Bundesliga side Mainz earlier this month and made his debut in Saturday’s 0-0 Premier League draw at Crystal Palace.

“Marco Silva gave me the chance to come to Everton, so I will give him the best I have, working hard and learning every day,” Gbamin said.

Gbamin was introduced as a 45th-minute substitute in the game at Selhurst Park after an injury to fellow summer signing Andre Gomes.

The Echo reports Gomes underwent a scan on his injured ankle on Monday and will continue to be monitored ahead of Saturday’s home clash with Watford.

The local read also looks ahead to Tuesday night’s second-round Carabao Cup draw.

Everton have been handed ball number three for the draw, which will take place following tonight’s round one clash between Salford City and Leeds United.
