McCarthy Seals Switch To Crystal Palace

James McCarthy has completed a transfer from Everton to Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee.

Midfielder McCarthy moves to the London club following six years at Goodison Park after joining from Wigan Athletic in September 2013.

An FA Cup winner in his final season with Wigan, McCarthy won instant acclaim from Evertonians during an impressive first campaign at the Club.

He played 34 Premier League matches as Everton amassed 72 points to secure a top-five finish in 2013/14.

Republic of Ireland international McCarthy made 133 appearances and scored six goals for Everton.

The 28-year-old, who made his professional debut for Hamilton Academical aged 15, recovered from injury to feature in Everton’s 4-0 victory over Manchester United back in April.

Everton Football Club would like to thank James for his commitment throughout his time at the Club and wishes him success for the future.
