Honoured Kean Out To Bring Winning Attitude To Ambitious Blues

Moise Kean says he will bring his “winning attitude” to Everton – and aim to give “joy” to the Club’s supporters.

Italian international striker Kean signed for Everton on Sunday, joining from Juventus for an undisclosed fee and inking a five-year deal to keep him at Goodison Park until at least June 2024.

One of Europe’s most exciting young strikers, Kean won his first senior Italy cap aged 18 and has scored twice in three appearances for his country.

The 19-year-old marked his full Juventus debut by striking twice against Udinese. Indeed, Kean promptly embarked on a run of six goals in six games as Juve clasped their grip on the Serie A title for an eighth successive season.

He had no second thoughts, though, over accepting the offer to come to Everton and reach his potential at Goodison.

“I was convinced to sign because Everton is a club looking to the future and so am I,” Kean told evertontv.

“I know about the size of the Club. It has big ambition and I will work very hard to help us fulfil what we want to achieve.

“I am used to winning and I want to bring this winning attitude to the team. I hope I will be very good on the field and bring the fans joy.”

Kean was just 16 when he made his debut for Juventus. He was the first player born in this millennium to play in the Champions League.

He etched his name in the record books when scoring his first Juve goal, too, Kean’s strike against Bologna in May 2017 making him the first footballer born since 2000 to net in one of Europe’s recognised top five leagues.

Kean spent 2017/18 on loan with Juventus’s Serie A rivals Verona and scored four times in 20 appearances for the northern Italian side.

His strength and clinical eye for goal were recognised last season by Italy manager Roberto Mancini, the player’s international summons crowning an electric campaign.

Kean featured 21 times for Juventus and scored eight goals.

And he is intent on maintaining his exponential rate of progress with Everton.

“Without objectives in life, you do not go anywhere,” said Kean. “I always work hard and now for the Everton fans I will give the best of myself and take advantage of this opportunity.

“As soon as I heard Everton were interested in me, I spoke to my agent and it was the first choice for me.

“I will train every day and I will be ready for the Premier League.

“I am very proud and very honoured to wear this shirt.”

Our new striker speaks to evertontv after completing move from Juventus.

Kean has worked under elite managers in national coach Mancini and Massimiliano Allegri, six times a Serie A winner across spells with AC Milan and Juventus – and who twice led the Turin club to Champions League finals before leaving this summer.

The teenager will now work under Marco Silva, the manager who has Everton tracking an upwards curve and has overseen the ongoing development of the likes of Brazilian attacking duo Richarlison and Bernard.

“Marco Silva is a very good trainer and I will follow him and his methods, which can only be a good thing,” added Kean. “It is very important to work hard every day, so you can be on top every day.

“Everton is a very big team, I know about the size of the Club.

“I work very hard and share all of the Club’s ambitions – and I want to bring my ambition to the team.

“I am ready for the challenge and I will give the best of myself.”
