New Everton midfielder Fabian Delph features heavily in Wednesday’s local and national newspapers following his official unveiling at USM Finch Farm.

The 29-year-old, who completed a move from Premier League champions Manchester City last week, spoke to the media on Tuesday to discuss his reasons for joining the Blues and first impressions of his new club.

The Daily Mail says Delph believes his switch to Goodison Park will boost his chances of nailing down a regular starting spot with England ahead of next summer’s European Championship, while in the Guardian the former Aston Villa star outlines why Marco Silva’s training sessions are more intense than those he experienced under City boss Pep Guardiola.

In the Liverpool Echo, Delph explains how he was “close” to signing for Everton as a teenager and also reveals how friend and former Toffees defender Joleon Lescott sold the Club to him by outlining the expectations of Evertonians and how they are “intelligent” fans.

Also in the Echo, Andre Gomes discusses the atmosphere at Goodison Park and how vital Blues supporters were in helping Silva’s side record victories over Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United towards the end of last season.

Finally, Sky Sports claims West Bromwich Albion are interested in taking Mason Holgate back to the Hawthorns on loan.

The defender, 22, spent the second half of last season with the Baggies, making 19 Championship appearances.
