What The Papers Say – July 10

Wednesday’s edition of The Guardian claims Everton are “considering a move” for Fabian Delph.

Manchester City midfielder Delph, capped 20 times by England, is poised to enter the final season of his Etihad Stadium contract and said to be open to a switch away from the Premier League champions.

The Daily Mail says Everton retain an interest in buying Juventus’s prodigious teenage striker Moise Kean.

The 19-year-old, who became the youngest forward in more than a century to start a match for Italy when he played and scored in a European Championship qualifying clash with Finland back in March, is reportedly valued at £31million by his club.

According to the Mail, though, Juventus would insist on inserting a buy-back clause in any deal to sell Kean.

Barcelona winger Malcolm has been consistently mooted as a Blues target this summer but one national paper claims Arsenal could “hijack” Everton’s move for the Brazilian.

Back in the Mail, it is suggested Kieran Dowell will be the subject of a loan bid from Derby County. Everton attacker Dowell, who helped Sheffield United win promotion to the Premier League last season, is also thought to be attracting interest from Huddersfield Town, the Yorkshire club apparently wanting to borrow the player for 2019-20.

French outlet Paris United reckons Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain want to take midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye from Everton.

Another paper speculates that Everton would need to sell Senegalese Gana to fund a bid for Bournemouth’s England striker Callum Wilson.
