Marcel Brands is quoted in Friday’s Liverpool Echo explaining the important role played by Evertonians in helping him and Marco Silva bring Andre Gomes back to Goodison Park.

The Director of Football says the way the Portuguese midfielder was made to feel “at home” during his loan spell from Barcelona last season was a major factor in his decision to agree a permanent five-year deal with the Club.

The Echo also explains why Chelsea’s imminent signing of midfielder Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid could help Everton’s rumoured chase of another loanee from last term, Kurt Zouma.

The papers say the arrival of Kovacic will leave the Stamford Bridge club needing to sell or loan out a foreign player to comply with Champions League regulations.

Everton want to install rail seating at both ends of a proposed new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, according to the Echo and Daily Mail

The reports also state the Blues intend for safe standing to be introduced if government legislation changes in the future.

In Italy, tuttomercatoweb hint at Everton interest in Hoffenheim’s former Leicester City striker Andrej Kramaric.

The 28-year-old scored 17 goals in 30 Bundesliga games last season en route to being named Hoffenheim’s player of the year.

Finally, the Echo believes Wigan Athletic have expressed their interest in re-signing Blues left-back Antonee Robinson after his successful loan spell at the DW Stadium in 2018-19 but that a firm bid is yet to be made.
