Everton Under-23s Defender Pens New Contract

Matty Foulds believes Everton “has everything you could want as a young player” after signing a new one-year deal with the Club until the end of June 2020.

The defender was part of the Toffees’ double-winning Under-23 team last season and has been rewarded for his impressive progress with a new contract.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Blues from Bury in January 2016, detailed how the inspiring, challenging environment at Everton has helped him to significantly develop his game.

Foulds insists he is determined to repay the faith shown in him by the Club and continue to elevate his performances levels.

“Everton is a great club and I’m so happy to sign this new deal,” he told evertonfc.com.

“For a young player, Everton has got it all. It’s a brilliant place to be. There’s nothing more you want to do than wake up and come in to work with the staff and players we’ve got. The facilities are incredible, too.

“I think I’ve got better and better each year I’ve been at Everton – I’ve got stronger, fitter and improved technically. I want to keep that going.”
