Everton Striker Simms Receives England Under-18s Call-Up

Everton striker Ellis Simms has been named in the England Under-18s squad for the Slovakia Cup, which gets under way next week.

The talented frontman has been rewarded with a maiden international call-up after a prolific goalscoring campaign.

Simms hit 32 goals in 21 matches in Under-18 Premier League (North) and won the Under-18s’ Player of the Season prize at Thursday’s Everton Academy Awards.

The Slovakia Cup features eight teams, who are divided into two groups of four. England have been drawn in Group A and will open their campaign against Russia on Monday 20 May.

Neil Dewsnip’s team face the host nation the following day, before rounding off their group stage campaign against Mexico on Thursday 23 May.

A Finals Day will then take place on Friday 24 May to determine the Slovakia Cup champions.
