WATCH: Everton Ground Staff Trio On Speed Cycle Challenge

Three USM Finch Farm groundsmen are among a group of cyclists taking on the epic Speed Cycle challenge this weekend.

Watch the video below to see Mark Rogers, John Geoghegan and Ryan Powell reflect on an unrelenting day of cycling which saw them ride 114 miles from Newcastle United’s St James’ Park to Leeds United’s Elland Road.

On Sunday they will cycle to Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane and Bolton Wanderers’ University of Bolton Stadium as they stop off at each club former Everton captain Gary Speed played for. The challenge will finish at Goodison Park, with the participants expected to arrive at the Grand Old Lady at around 6.30pm.

The group are honouring the memory of Speed and raising funds for the People’s Place – Everton in the Community’s groundbreaking mental health campaign.

The group are aiming to raise a total of £65,000, which equates to £1,000 for each appearance Speed made for Everton.
