Thursday’s Liverpool Echo reports on how Everton’s proposed new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock is a “huge opportunity for the city region”.

Ian Pollitt from Liverpool Waters – a project which aims to transform the city’s northern docks – explained why the Club’s plans are so significant.

"We are absolutely delighted that, after an exhaustive search for a new football ground, Everton Football Club has chosen Liverpool Waters as its new home,” Pollitt said.

“It has elevated the nature of the project into a completely new realm and has reinforced our proposition to the people of Liverpool and beyond of our intent to create a world-class mixed-use waterfront that can be enjoyed by many people for many purposes.”

The local read also carries quotes from Toffees goalkeeper Joao Virginia, who was part of the Everton Under-23s team that secured the Premier League 2 title with a 1-0 win over closest rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday night.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Blues from Arsenal last summer, detailed how Everton manager Marco Silva and goalkeeping coach Hugo Oliveira have helped to elevate his game.

“They both talk a lot to me and one of the main developments I have had is in consistency,” he said.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, speculates Tottenham Hotspur could be interested in signing Everton centre-back Michael Keane.
