Academy Welcome New Intake

Everton have welcomed 11 new additions to their Academy ranks.

The youngsters will be at the Academy full time next season, after finishing their state educations.

Whilst they will be under 17 players, they are expected to form a significant part of the Toffees' under 18 side next term.

Some players, including Jack Rodwell, have aready turned out for the Academy side as well as the reserves.

Rodwell, James McCarten, Luke Powell, Michael Stewart, Tom McCready, Moses Barnett, Karl Sheppard, George Krenn, Hope Akpan, Danny Redmond and Louis Codling are the latest batch of youngsters and will be training full time at Finch Farm this season.

Academy Director Ray Hall told evertonTV: "Their lives as full time players start at 8.15 on Monday morning.

"We have actually got more than we usually take on because of the quality. We are taking 11 boys on and we feel we have got as good a group coming into us as we have had for many years."
