Everton’s Jack Rodwell suffered international defeat on Tuesday evening.

The Blues Academy player was part of the England Under 16 team that went down 3-1 in Koper against Slovenia.

Rodwell, who was named as the captain by the coach Kenny Swain, played the whole 90 minutes of the friendly.

England fell behind early on, levelled before the break but then conceded two second-half goals to slip to defeat.

Rodwell, who turns 16-years old next month has now won four England Under 16 caps.
