Everton Under-18s defender Shane Duffy is confident his side will return to winning ways against Bolton this weekend.

The young Blues have had a poor run of result of late – having not won in eight games.

But Duffy’s confidence hasn’t slipped and he is adamant they will get a positive result on Saturday morning.

He told evertonTV: “We were beaten at the weekend, but hopefully we’ll start turning that around against Bolton this weekend.

“I reckon we will put it right this weekend because of the way it’s been in and around the training ground. We’ll get a result this weekend.”

Duffy got his first taste of a Merseyside derby last weekend and although the Toffees were subjected to a 2-0 defeat, the Northern Irish defender enjoyed the experience of taking part in such a competitive match.

He continued: “We could have played better as a team overall. On the day we just didn’t perform.

“The tackles and the atmosphere just let you know that it was a derby and I enjoyed it very much.”
