Jack's Diary - Friday

There was a surprise for us this morning...rain!

It was overcast when we left the hotel, although Eunan O'Kane didn't realize and had plastered himself in Factor 50 before we left!

(Eunan was 18 yesterday and we got him a cake at the evening meal.)

By the time we got to the training ground it was clear that the heavens were about to open and we had to contact Jimmy Martin at the hotel to bring some wet tops.

Thankfully the shower didn't last too long and it soon warmed up again.

For lunch today we went to the highest restaurant I've ever been to!

We took a mini-bus to the top of a really high mountain and had a three-course meal. It was a scary journey because the bus was very close to a sheer drop as we made our way up the mountain.

Someone told me we'd eaten reindeer while we were there but I'm not convinced. It could have been beef.

We cycled back down the mountain and once again there were some tricky bits to get through.

Dave Billows fell off again!

You don't realize just how steep the hills are as you coast down them on the bikes and within a matter of seconds you can really build up a speed and have to pull the brakes to slow down.

We had the afternoon off and myself and a couple of the lads did a bit of shopping.

I noticed Kieran Agard and Jose Baxter doing an evertonTV interview after tea tonight so I'll be watching that and giving them some stick!

Seriously, I know how nerve-wracking that can be but I am slow but surely getting used to interviews and I suppose it's nice to be asked because it means you're doing well.

I've enjoyed the week here in Switzerland and I've enjoyed writing this diary each day. I hope you've enjoyed reading it and I'll see you all at Goodison next season.
