Everton starlet Shane Duffy has been called up to the Northern Ireland Under-20s squad for the Milk Cup Tournament.

The defender, who only turned 16 in January, was originally on stand-by but has now been asked to join up with the team ahead of their opening game against USA on Monday 28 July.

Northern Ireland’s other Group game pits them against Belgium two days later.

Duffy, who joined the Everton Academy in November last year, will link up with club team-mate Eunan O’Kane who had already been selected for the prestigious tournament.

Past Milk Cups have featured such talents as David Beckham, Gary Neville and former Everton star Nick Barmby.
