Rodwell Injury Blow

Everton will be without Jack Rodwell for four weeks.

The midfielder pulled up after just eight minutes of last week's 1-0 defeat to BATE Borisov, with David Moyes subsequently confirming the injury as a hamstring problem.

Rodwell was sent for a scan on Friday and the results mean the England Under-21 international won't feature until the New Year.

The setback means the teenager will miss the hectic festive schedule, including games Sunderland, Burnley and Carlisle.

Everton's squad has also been deprived of fellow midfielders Mikel Arteta and Phil Neville for an extended period, though the club captain is close to a return.

Rodwell has been an important figure for Everton this season, making 22 starts and scoring two goals.
