Vic Hails Midfield Creativity

Victor Anichebe has hailed the creativity of Everton's midfield after the 3-1 win over Sheffield United.

Mikel Arteta and Marouane Fellaini were back in the starting XI for the Toffees, lining up alongside youthful pair Jack Rodwell and Ross Barkley.

Experienced string-puller Leon Osman completed the midfield quintet which helped carve out chance after chance against the League One Blades.

Add to that the attacking potency of Leighton Baines from left-full back and Anichebe believes Everton have the potential to create plenty of chances.

He was the beneficiary of an assist by Ross Barkley on Wednesday night and afterwards told evertontv: "We have Bainesy who is like a left-wing back, Ross is a dream to play with because he comes inside and looks for one-twos. Mikel is the same and we have Felli and Jack who bomb forward at times as well.

"That is nice with the way I play with my back to goal. It is good to have people in front of me, Ross was a big help, he was always looking for me and Mikel was the same."

The Nigerian forward will now be hoping to help Everton boost their Premier League campaign with victory at Blackburn on Saturday, buouyed by completing the full 90 minutes against Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old was so pleased to get the full match under his belt that he insisted his goal was just a bonus.

"I was pleased," he continued. "It's always pleasing to score but it was more pleasing to complete 90 minutes. It's been a while since I've done that. Hopefully I can do that more and keep developing as a player.

"Hopefully we can take this win into the weekend and kick start our season."
