Nikica Jelavic was on target for Croatia on Wednesday.

He was one of a number of Everton players in international action, with most Blues stars enjoying positive performances for their national sides.
 


Jelavic lead the way, emerging from the bench to score his side's third goal as they swept aside South Korea 4-0 in a friendly at Fulham's Craven Cottage.
 


His goal came courtesy of a typically clinical first-time finish, adding to efforts from Mario Mandzukic, Dario Srna and Cottagers frontman Mladen Petric, who netted on his home ground.

Leighton Baines was the only one of three Everton players in the England squad to feature as he played the second half of the Three Lions' impressive 2-1 win. Phil Jagielka and Leon Osman were forced to look on from the bench, with Jagielka carrying a 'slight knock', according to Roy Hodgson.

In Aberdeen Steven Naismith started for Scotland as they marked Gordon Strachan's first match in charge with a 1-0 win over Estonia.

Kevin Mirallas played the first 45 minutes of Belgium's 2-1 win at home to Slovakia.

Marouane Fellaini, reportedly nursing hip injury, was among the substitutes but didn't figure.

In CONCACAF World Cup qualifying Tim Howard's USA lost 2-1 to Honduras while Bryan Oviedo was an unused sub as Costa Rica fought back to draw 2-2 with Panama.

Earlier on Wednesday, Shane Duffy captained Ireland Under-21s to a commendable 3-0 win over Holland in Dublin.
 
Millwall's Aiden O'Brien (2) and Wolves' Anthony Forde were the scorers for the Irish.
 


Also in Under-21 action, Apostolos Vellios' Greece side drew 1-1 with Scotland with the Everton striker providing the assist for his country's goal.
