Mirallas' Belgium Exit World Cup

Kevin Mirallas was unable to prevent Belgium exiting the World Cup at the hands of Argentina.

Mirallas had been handed only his second start of the tournament but was powerless to intervene as Gonzalo Higuain’s early strike was the difference between the sides.

Mirallas’ first half header just wide was the closest Belgium came to levelling the scores in Brasilia.

Indeed, the Everton man was withdrawn just before the hour as Belgium sought a way past Argentina’s defence.

The Red Devils’ defeat means there are no Everton players left involved in the tournament.

The Blues’ pre-season training commences next week but those players involved in the World Cup will return later this summer.
