Lyons' Giant Plaque Unveiled

Blues legend Mick Lyons was honoured at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

In the build-up to kick-off against Chelsea, the 64-year-old’s Everton Giant plaque was unveiled on Goodison Road.

Lyons was inducted into the Club’s Hall of Fame at the End of Season Awards last May in acknowledgement of his 473 appearances for the Toffees across an 11-year spell between 1971 and 1982.

“When I think of the other players who have been honoured in this way, it’s very humbling,” said Lyons, who now lives in Perth, Western Australia.

“Everton has always been my Club, as everybody knows, and this is just fantastic.”
