Everton Under-21s came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Manchester United and maintain their unbeaten start to their Premier League 2 campaign.

It was Tom Cannon who was on the scoresheet once again as the 19-year-old found the back of the net twice in a pulsating first half of action.

The visitors struck first as Omari Forson headed the ball into the path of Marc Jurado who drilled a low shot past Zan-Luk Leban in the Everton net.

Ten minutes later United doubled their lead as Kobbie Mainoo played the ball over the top and into the path of Isak Hansen-Aaroen who finished past Leban.

Paul Tait looked for a response from his Young Blues, which he found two minutes later as Cannon pulled one back.

Charlie Whitaker slipped the forward through in the box as he made no mistake by smashing the ball into the far corner.

Everton continued to mount pressure on their visitors which was rewarded with a well-earned equaliser in the 39th minute.

It was a lovely delivery into the box from Mackenzie Hunt who found Cannon as his header went beyond Nathan Bishop in the United net to secure his fourth goal in three games.

Friday evening's result see Everton sit third in Premier League 2 as the Under-21s will look to continue their impressive run when they travel to face West Ham United next weekend.
