Coby Ebere smashed home a hat-trick as Everton Under-18s produced a dominant second-half display on the road to beat Stoke City Under-18s 4-1 in Saturday morning's Premier League U18s (North) clash.

The sides couldn't be separated after a competitive first period. However, the Blues kicked into gear in the second half with forward Ebere grabbing himself a treble to fire Leighton Baines’ side 3-0 ahead.

Harrison Armstrong netted a fourth before the hosts scored a late consolation, but that wasn't enough to stop the young Blues securing their first three points of 2024.

Everton Under-18s return to action next Saturday when they head to Nottingham Forest (12pm GMT kick-off).

Speaking to evertonfc.com following the win, assistant manager Kieran Driscoll said: "It was a tough first half, neither side could really take control. But we addressed a few things at half-time and changed the shape. We then came out with much more intensity. Coby has got himself a hat-trick and then Harrison's capped off a much better second-half display for us.

"We're really happy with how the lads responded after the break."
