Everton Former Players' Foundation

NEW FORMER PLAYERS SECTION!
We are delighted to announce a brand-new section on the official Everton website devoted to former players.
The Everton Former Players’ Foundation is a registered charity that was founded in 1999 with the purpose of helping players who represented our great club across the decades.
The Foundation identified areas in which former players would need help – often urgently – such as medical or dental issues, funeral costs, re-training and employment advice, and monies raised through fundraising and donations have certainly been put to good use.
One of the earliest beneficiaries who was more than happy to discuss how much the Foundation had helped him was the legendary Gordon West, and many more since have been grateful for the assistance that’s available.
evertonfc.com/efpf is the new online home for the Foundation and the pages will be populated with news about the charity, our events and former Everton players all over the world.
We’ll have interviews, career updates, PFA news, Where Are They Now features, and we’ll continue with our hugely popular Bred A Blue podcast series with those who came through the youth ranks at Everton and have a story to tell.
We also hope that having their own section of the official website will encourage more and more former players to reconnect with the Football Club as we enter an exciting new era at our fantastic Hill Dickinson Stadium home.
Darren Griffiths manages the relationship between the Club and our former players.
He said: “We already have an extensive database but there are still many, many more former Blues who we’d love to interact with. Ideally, we’d love players themselves to make contact with us and reconnect with the Everton family.
“This new section on the website will not just be entertaining for our supporters, it will also be more than useful for our former players.
“The Everton Former Players’ Foundation works closely with the PFA and I have also had communication with the Football Association about a really exciting project they are working on regarding former England internationals.”
WHERE IS HE NOW?
In this feature, we will bring you stories and podcast interviews with former players.
Our popular Bred a Blue podcasts will be a key feature – former Academy players who may not have made the impact that they wanted with Blues, but they each have a story to tell. So far, we have featured the likes of Ian Bishop, Tony Grant, Steven Schumacher, Peter Clarke, Ryan Ledson, John-Paul Kissock, and Jonjoe Kenny to name but a few.
Access the Bred a Blue podcasts here.
We will also be keeping an eye on our former players who are still playing. As usual, there was a plethora of ex-Evertonians on the move during the January transfer window
Kieran Dowell has moved south from Glasgow Rangers to promotion-chasing Championship outfit Hull City, Ademola Lookman left Serie A outfit Atalanta for La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, and Conor Coady accepted a loan move to Charlton Athletic from Wrexham.
Jack Harrison secured a loan deal in Italy with Fiorentina and a few of our former Academy/Under-21 players have been on the move too. Lewis Warrington signed for Tranmere Rovers from Walsall, Luke Butterfield has joined Accrington Stanley on loan from Chesterfield, Joe Anderson has left Sunderland to sign for Barrow and Emilio Lawrence will spend the rest of the campaign on loan at Luton Town from Manchester City.
And if you really want to feel old, Danny Cadamarteri’s son, Bailey, left Sheffield Wednesday for Wrexham!
