Shareholders

It is widely believed that Everton was the first football club to have its own Shareholders' Association, a group that first came into being in 1938.

The original intention of the association, to act as a watchdog over important matters concerning the Club, is still a valid summary of its objective today.

The association maintains close ties with the Board and administration of the Club but remains fiercely independent.

During the past decade, the association has been instrumental in calling two Extraordinary General Meetings.

Also, in 2004, the Association voted overwhelmingly for plans to be put in place for a reappraisal of Everton's commercial operation.

As Evertonians first and shareholders second, the Association's members will continue their efforts to unite that voice and uphold the traditions of Everton Football Club at all times.
