Autism Awareness

What is the Autism Charter?

Delivered in partnership with Autism Together and Autism Adventures, the Charter enables businesses and organisations to become autism champions and strives to improve services for people affected by autism. It pledges to train staff and empowers them to make reasonable adjustments within their own business environments to enable people with autism to access their own community.

Everton Football Club and the Autism Charter

As a Club, we are very proud to have been one of the first businesses in the North West to sign up to the Autism Charter. We are committed to raising awareness and support for those with autism and to ensure the best possible experience when attending Everton Football Club.

We have pledged to train our staff with the relevant knowledge and tools required for them to recognise the signs of someone living with autism and the skills to offer the relevant level of support to both home and away fans. This includes how to recognise the characteristics of autism and how to support with sensory overload and risk behaviours (distressed behaviours).

Why did we choose to sign up to the Charter?

Everton Football Club prides itself on being The People's Club. Equality and inclusion are fundamental principles at the core of the Club. We believe in equal opportunities for all and in all areas of diversity to ensure that individuals are not discriminated against.
