Tom Booth arrived from Blackburn Rovers before the start of the 1900/01 season and went on to make 185 appearances for the Blues.

He was a solid, consistent defender who had been capped by England whilst at Blackburn and he was to earn a further cap whilst at Goodison.

Booth played for the Toffees for eight seasons, captaining the side during their unsuccessful title pushes in 1901/02 and 1903/04.

He left Everton in May 1908 to join Preston North End but moved onto Carlisle United without playing a game for the Lancashire club.
