McLeod was blessed with electric pace and made his first-team debut in September 2000 against Ipswich Town.

He left Everton in 2003 to join Queens Park Rangers after a successful loan spell at Loftus Road.

In 2005, he departed the capital and moved to Swansea City, before joining Colchester United a year later.

McLeod signed on at Brighton and Hove Albion in 2005 and spent two years on the south coast, before joining his last Football League club, Wycombe Wanderers.
