Everton Ladies secured the signing of midfielder Jodie Brett from Chelsea in July 2017.
The midfielder had progressed through the ranks with the London club since the age of nine, and was in the first-team squad that lifted both the WSL 1 and FA Women’s Cup in 2015.
Brett spent the 2016 WSL season down in the second division on loan at Bristol City, helping them to promotion. That deal was subsequently extended for the Spring Series that bridged the league moving to a winter competition.
The Portsmouth-born midfielder also has extensive international experience. She captained an England Under-19s side featuring current Toffees Claudia Walker, Gabby George and Mollie Green in the 2015 European Championships. Brett was later named in the Squad of the Tournament.
She has since appeared for both the Lionesses at Under-20s and Under-23s level, and was named in the latter squad that won the Nordic Tournament in 2017.
Brett made her Everton debut against Liverpool on the opening day of the 2017/18 season, before netting her maiden goal in the FA Women’s Cup quarter-final win over Durham.
At the end of the 2017/18 campaign, Brett was allowed to move on to fellow WSL side Brighton.
