Conor McAleny joined Everton’s Academy aged just 11, becoming a full-time scholar in the summer of 2008.

The diminutive yet pacy striker has impressed as a forward in his years at the Club.

He became part of the Under-18s squad in 2008/09, netting a number of important goals - a role which increased the following season.

McAleny was also handed a squad number in 2009/10 but didn't feature for the first team in that campaign.

With the Blues plagued by injuries in April 2011 McAleny was named as a subsitute in the 2-2 with Aston Villa at Goodison Park along with fellow academy graduates Adam Forshaw and Aristote Nsiala.

He appeared as an unused substitute on several further occasions and also helped Everton's Under-18s to Academy League glory that season.

In June 2011, Conor signed a new one-year deal at the Club and six months later he made his senior debut with a late substitute appearance at Arsenal.

In the next game, McAleny made his first Goodison outing by coming on for Louis Saha in a 1-1 draw with Norwich City.

On 23 March 2012, he joined Scunthorpe United on loan for the remainder of the season.

Injury hampered the Liverpool-born youngster's progress during the 2012/13 season but he still managed to score 10 goals for Everton Under-21s, including strikes against Newcastle United at Goodison Park and Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the end-of-season play-off rounds.

In July 2013, McAleny joined League One outfit Brentford on a six-month loan deal to further his first-team experience, but suffered a broken leg in just his fourth appearance.

His loan spell was subsequently cancelled on 2 September so that his lengthy rehabilitation programme could commence at Finch Farm.

McAleny made his first senior start in the Europa League visit of FC Krasnodar in December 2014, before leaving for Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season in February.

He scored twice in nine appearances for the Bluebirds during an injury-hit spell in South Wales.

After an impressive pre-season ahead of the 2015/16 campaign, in which he scored against Swindon Town and Dundee, McAleny joined Championship outfit Charlton Athletic on loan until 7 November.

He spent the second half of the 2016/17 season on loan at Oxford United, before leaving the Blues for Fleetwood Town upon the expiration of his contract on 1 July 2017.
