Born in Liverpool, Antony Evans joined Everton's Academy at the age of nine.

The youngster, who had previously been at Liverpool, can operate as an attacking midfielder or forward.

He signed scholarship forms at the Club in July 2015 and, having made his first appearances for the Under-21s at the close of 2014/15 at just 16, enjoyed a fruitful season with David Unsworth's side in 2015/16.

He began the 2016/17 campaign with the Under-23s, who eventually went on to secure the Premier League 2 title, before spending the majority of the second half of the term on loan with Morecambe. He made 14 appearances with the League Two outfit, scoring two goals.

Evans returned to the Blues' Under-23 set-up for the 2017/18 campaign and started the season in blistering form. His excellent range of passing, ball-striking and ability to drive at defenders key aspects of the young Blues' attacking arsenal.

The midfielder's impressive form saw him sign a new contract in February - which will keep him at the Club until June 2020 - while he was also handed the captaincy of the Under-23s by boss Unsworth.

The midfielder appeared to thrive on the responsibility as skipper - with his performance level rising even further - before a knee injury in March ended his season. Evans is expected to be fit to return for pre-season training, however, and will aim to pick up straight where he left off.

Contracted until: June 2020
